Getting Started
Welcome to the platform! Here's the recommended workflow to get up and running quickly:
Watch: New Campaign Wizard Walkthrough
The guided way to launch your first campaign
🚀 Quick Start Guide
- Connect your products — Go to Source Feed and import your product catalog via Shopify, Google, Meta, file upload, or feed URL
- Create a design — Open the Creative Builder, pick a template, and customize it with your brand colors and dynamic product fields
- Set up an output feed — Go to Output Feeds, create a feed, and connect it to Google Merchant Center or Meta to start using your creatives in ads
- Automate (optional) — Set up Automation Rules to automatically apply different designs based on product conditions like sales or low stock
💡 Pro Tip: Start with one of our pre-made templates and customize it — it's much faster than starting from scratch!
Dashboard
The Dashboard is your home base where you can see everything at a glance.
- Quick Stats – View how many products, designs, and feeds you have across all your stores
- Recent Designs – See your latest creative work and jump back into editing
- Quick Actions – Jump directly to create new designs, videos, or output feeds
- Store Selector – Switch between stores if you manage multiple brands
💡 Tip: The Dashboard gives you a quick overview of everything happening in your account. Check it regularly to stay on top of your campaigns.
Source Feed (Products)
The Source Feed is where all your products live. Think of it as your product catalog that powers everything in the platform.
How to Connect Your Products
You have several ways to get your products into the platform:
- Feed URL – Enter a product feed URL for a catalog you own or are authorized to use, and we'll import your products automatically
- Upload a File – Drag and drop a CSV, XML, or spreadsheet file with your product data
- Connect Shopify – Click "Connect Shopify" and follow the authentication steps. Products sync automatically!
- Connect WooCommerce – Import products from your WooCommerce store
- Connect Meta Catalog – Import from Facebook/Instagram product catalogs
- Connect Google Merchant Center – Import products from your existing Google catalog
- Connect TikTok – Import from your TikTok product catalog
Managing Products
- Search – Find specific products by name, SKU, or other attributes using the search bar
- Filter – Filter by availability, category, brand, price range, or other attributes
- Sync – Click the sync button to refresh products from the connected source
- Auto-Sync – Set up automatic syncing on a schedule so your products stay up-to-date without manual work
- Exclude Out-of-Stock – Option to automatically exclude products that are out of stock
- Manage Fields – Customize which product fields are imported and how they're mapped
💡 Tip: Products need at least a title, image, and price to work correctly with designs and output feeds.
Product Sets
Product Sets let you group products together based on rules. They're useful for applying targeted designs or creating focused output feeds.
Watch: Product Sets Walkthrough
How to group products into targeted sets
Example Use Cases
- "Sale Items" – All products currently on sale
- "New Arrivals" – Products added in the last 30 days
- "Best Sellers" – Your top-performing products
- "Under $50" – Budget-friendly products for specific ad campaigns
- "Holiday Collection" – Seasonal products for themed ads
To Create a Product Set:
- Go to Source Feed → Product Sets tab
- Click "Create Product Set"
- Name your set and define filter rules (e.g., "price less than $50" or "brand equals Nike")
- Preview the matched products to make sure the rules are correct
- Save!
💡 Tip: Product Sets are dynamic — products are automatically added or removed as their data changes. If a product goes on sale, it will automatically appear in your "Sale Items" set.
Creative Builder
The Creative Builder is your design studio for creating beautiful product ad images. Design once, and it automatically generates unique creatives for every product.
Video Mode
Switch the builder into Video Mode to animate your layers and export short product videos right from your design — no separate tool needed.
Watch: Video Mode

Getting Started
- Choose a template or start from scratch — you can also import a PSD or Figma design
- Select a product to preview your design with real product data
- Add and customize elements — text, images, shapes, product image, and more
- Save and publish your design to use in output feeds
What You Can Add
- Text Layers – Add product names, prices, sale info, or custom text with full font control
- Images – Add logos, badges, overlays, backgrounds, or decorative elements
- Shapes – Rectangles, circles, and other geometric shapes with fill, stroke, and opacity
- Product Image – Automatically pulls the product image from your feed
Dynamic Elements
Link any layer to your product feed so content updates automatically for each product. When your feed generates, each product gets its own unique creative!
Watch: Dynamic Colors
Drive layer colors from your product data
Watch: Conditional Visibility
Show or hide layers based on product conditions
Watch: Field Modifiers
Transform dynamic field values before they render
How to Make a Layer Dynamic:
- Select a layer (text, image, or shape)
- Click the "Dynamic" tab in the right panel
- Under "Feed Column", choose a field from your product feed
- The layer content will automatically update per product!
Common dynamic fields include:
nameProduct titlepriceCurrent pricesale_priceSale pricebrandBrand nameimageProduct imageYou can also map to any custom column from your product feed! Set a fallback field or static fallback value for products missing that data.
Layer Controls
- Move & Resize – Click and drag elements to position and resize them
- Layer Order – Use the layers panel to arrange which elements appear in front or behind
- Lock/Unlock – Lock layers you don't want to accidentally move
- Hide/Show – Toggle visibility while designing without deleting
- Duplicate – Copy a layer to quickly reuse it
- Delete – Remove unwanted elements
AI Features
- Generate Image – Describe what you want and AI creates it for your design
- Generate Ad Copy – Get AI-suggested text for your ads based on product data
AI features are available on Business and Agency plans.
Saving Your Work
- Save Design – Save your current design to edit later
- Save as Template – Create a reusable template for future products
- Publish – Make your design available for use in Output Feeds
Importing Designs
You can import existing designs to save time:
- PSD Import – Upload a Photoshop file and we'll convert the layers into editable elements
- Figma Import – Paste a Figma URL to import your design directly
- Dynamic fields are auto-matched based on layer names (e.g., a layer named "price" will be mapped to product price)
AI Image Generation
AI Image Generation is a special pay-as-you-go feature (not included in any plan) that allows you to create new, stunning product images with AI for your entire feed.
How It Works
- Create an AI Image Field: Set up a custom field to store your AI-generated images.
- Write a Prompt: Use our prompt editor to describe the scene, or choose from our extensive library of presets (e.g., Studio, Minimal, Lifestyle, Surreal).
- Select a Model: Choose between "Boost Vision" (Fast, great for previews) and "Boost Vision Pro" (Recommended, highest quality).
- Generate: Generate previews for a few products to test your prompt, then process your entire product feed.
Using Generated Images
Once generated, your AI images are saved to the AI Image field you created. You can use these images in two ways:
- Include in Feeds: Map the AI Image field directly to your output feeds as the main or additional image.
- Use in Designs: In the Creative Builder, link an image layer to your new AI Image field to create dynamic ad templates.
💡 Note: AI Image Generation is a premium add-on billed separately based on the number of images generated and the model selected.
Designs
The Designs page is your library of saved creative designs. View, manage, and create new designs from here.
Creating a New Design
- Click "New Design" — choose between Static Image or Video
- Select a canvas size from the presets or enter custom dimensions
- You'll be taken to the Creative Builder to design
Size Presets
- Square (1080×1080) – Instagram / Facebook Feed
- Story (1080×1920) – Instagram Stories, Reels, TikTok

- Filter – View only static or video designs
- Edit – Click on a design to re-open it in the Creative Builder
- Delete – Remove designs you no longer need
💡 Tip: Create multiple designs for different ad formats (square for feed, vertical for stories) and assign them in Output Feeds!
Video Creator
Create eye-catching product videos from your designs and products! Perfect for social media ads, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
How It Works
- Select products – Choose which products to feature (or use a Product Set)
- Pick a design – Select a saved design as your video template
- Choose transitions – Pick how slides change between products (fade, slide, zoom, wipe, and more)
- Add music – Upload your own audio or use stock music
- Generate – Click generate and download your video!
Video Settings
- Duration per Product – How long each product appears (1–10 seconds)
- Transitions – Fade, slide, zoom, wipe, and many more animation styles
- Product Limit – Videos support up to 50 products. Create a Product Set of 50 items or fewer for best results
Video Formats
- Vertical (9:16) – Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts
- Square (1:1) – Instagram Feed, Facebook
- Landscape (16:9) – YouTube, TV ads
- Custom sizes are also available for specific platform needs
Adding Audio
- Upload – Add your own music or sound effects (MP3, WAV)
- Stock Audio – Browse the library of free-to-use tracks
- No Audio – Leave it silent if you prefer
💡 Tip: Short, punchy videos (15–30 seconds) with trending audio perform best on social platforms!
Output Feeds
Output Feeds export your enhanced products (with creatives!) to advertising platforms. This is where your designs become live product ads.
Watch: Publish to Meta Walkthrough
Step-by-step: create a feed and publish it to your Meta catalog
Creating an Output Feed
- Click "Create Output Feed"
- Name – Give your feed a descriptive name (e.g., "Holiday Campaign - Sale Items")
- Platform – Choose your target platform: Meta, Google Ads, Pinterest, or TikTok
- Feed Format – Choose "Supplemental Feed" (the default and recommended if your products are already on the platform — it adds your designs on top of the existing catalog without touching titles, prices, or links) or "Main Feed" (a complete catalog with all product data plus your designs — use it when the platform doesn't have your products yet)
- Save Design As – Main Image replaces the product photo so ads show your design automatically (image_link); Additional Image keeps the original photo and adds your design as an extra image that you pick in your campaign setup (additional_image_link). On Meta supplemental feeds, Main Image makes your first design the main catalog image (the original photo rides along as an additional image), while Additional Image — the recommended choice — keeps the original photo first and adds designs as tagged additional images. With an API connection, the Campaign Image Manager can push any additional image as the default image for a specific campaign or ad
- Delivery Method – Choose Download File (manual upload) or Direct API Sync (automated push to platform)
- Select Designs – Pick which designs to apply to products
- Product Set (optional) – Apply the feed to a specific product set
- Click Create!
Delivery Methods
- Download File – Generates a CSV file you can manually upload to your advertising platform
- Direct API Sync – Connects directly to your Meta, Google, Pinterest, or TikTok account and pushes your feed automatically. Requires connecting your ad account. Available on Starter plans and above.
Connecting to Platforms
When using Direct API Sync, connect your ad platform account directly:
Google Merchant Center
- Click "Login with Google"
- Sign in with your Google account
- Select your Merchant Center account
- Authorize the connection
Meta (Facebook / Instagram)
- Click "Login with Meta"
- Log in to your Facebook account
- Select your Business and Catalog
- Authorize the connection
Pinterest & TikTok
Follow the same login flow — select your ad account or business center and authorize access.
Multi-treatment Strategies
When multiple designs are selected, choose how they are applied to products:
Watch: Multi-treatment Strategy Walkthrough
How to apply multiple designs across products
- Standard Output – For Main Feed, uses the first design for all items. For Supplemental Feed, adds all designs — as additional images, or with the first design taking the main image slot when Save Design As is Main Image.
- Split Test – Evenly distributes designs across products for A/B testing. Automatically adds a
treatment:idlabel so you can measure performance. - Conditional Assignment – Assign specific designs to products that match filter rules (e.g., Category equals "Shoes" → use the Shoes design). Unmatched products use the first design as fallback.
Apply Designs To – With Standard Output (or a single design), limit rendering to a saved Product Set or custom conditions — one selection for every design, or Per design so each design has its own Product Set or conditions and a product receives every design it qualifies for. Products outside a selection stay in the feed with their original images and don't consume renders — handy when a design only fits 10% of the catalog.
Manage Feed Fields
Control exactly which fields appear in your output feed:
- Exclude Fields – Remove unwanted columns from your feed (e.g., internal IDs)
- Rename Fields – Change column names to match your platform's requirements
- Preview – See sample values from your products for each field
Access via the ⚙️ gear icon on each feed row, or the "Manage Fields" button in the create/edit modal.
Variant Availability Filter
Automatically handle products with low variant availability:
- Set a minimum in-stock threshold (e.g., 50%) — products with fewer in-stock sizes/variants are filtered
- Exclude – Completely remove those products from the feed
- Label – Keep them in the feed but add a custom label (e.g.,
low_variant_availability) for platform-side filtering
Products are grouped by item_group_id to evaluate variant availability across sizes.
Optional attribute rules let you compute availability over specific attributes (e.g., only Size) for products in a chosen product set. When attribute rules are configured, the filter only applies to product groups matching a rule's product set — everything else is left untouched.
Feed Actions
Each feed in the table has these action buttons:
- Regenerate – Rebuild the feed with the latest product data and designs
- Pre-render Images – Warm the image cache by pre-generating all product creatives. This speeds up feed delivery so advertising platforms see images instantly instead of waiting for on-demand rendering.
- Download – Download the feed as a CSV file
- Manage Fields – Configure which fields are included and how they're named
- Edit – Modify feed settings (name, designs, delivery, etc.)
- Delete – Remove the feed permanently
Campaign Image Manager (Meta only)
For Meta feeds, the Campaign Image Manager lets you assign any of your design images (including additional images) as the image a specific campaign or ad displays — without changing the catalog for other campaigns:
- Select a campaign (and optionally specific ads) and pick which design it should show
- CataBoost updates the ad creatives via Meta's API to point at that design's image tag — the tagged images themselves reach the catalog through your supplemental feed
- Available via the target icon on Meta feed rows (all API feeds, plus file/URL supplemental feeds)
- Works with file/URL-delivered supplemental feeds too: connect your Meta account from inside the manager — that connection is used only for campaign image assignment, while your feed stays on manual/URL delivery. Make sure the supplemental feed is added to the same catalog as a data source (and has been fetched by Meta) so the tagged images are actually there
Feed URL
After creating a feed, you'll get a unique Feed URL:
- Copy this URL and paste it in your advertising platform
- The feed updates automatically when you make changes to designs or products
- Products get fresh creatives based on your latest designs
Refresh Schedule
Set how often your feed automatically regenerates:
- Manual – Only regenerate when you click the button
- Hourly / Daily / Weekly / Monthly – Automatically regenerate on a schedule to keep data fresh
💡 Tip: Use supplemental feeds when you only want to add creative images without overwriting your existing product data. Use Pre-render Images after creating a feed so platforms see your creatives immediately.
Automation
Set up automation rules that automatically apply designs based on product conditions. Work smarter, not harder!
Example Rules
- When a product goes on sale, apply the "Sale Badge" design
- When a product is low stock, show "Limited Availability" banner
- During holiday season, add "Holiday Theme" overlay
- When price drops below a threshold, apply a "Deal" design
Creating a Rule
- Click "Create Rule"
- Name – Describe what this rule does (e.g., "Apply sale design to discounted items")
- Trigger – Define when the rule activates:
- Product attribute changes (price, sale_price, availability, etc.)
- Date/time based (holidays, weekends, specific date ranges)
- Custom conditions (any product field matches a value)
- Action – What happens when triggered:
- Apply a specific design
- Add to a Product Set
- Update in Output Feed
- Activate – Turn the rule on!
Managing Rules
- Toggle On/Off – Quickly enable or disable rules without deleting them
- Edit – Modify rule conditions at any time
- Delete – Remove rules you no longer need
- See Matched Products – View which products currently match each rule
💡 Tip: Start with simple rules and build complexity as you get comfortable. Rules are evaluated in order, so higher-priority rules take precedence.
Product Analytics
Product Analytics shows how your products perform across advertising platforms. Connect your ad accounts to see real performance data at the SKU level.
Connecting Ad Platforms
Connect one or more ad platforms to pull in performance data:
- Google Ads – Connect your Google Ads account to see Shopping campaign performance
- Meta Ads – Connect Meta to see Facebook and Instagram ad performance
- TikTok Ads – Connect TikTok to see product-level ad performance
Data is synced automatically and can be refreshed on demand.
Performance Overview
- Summary Cards – See total revenue, ad spend, ROAS, clicks, impressions, and CTR at a glance
- Date Range – Filter by last 7, 14, 30, 90 days, this month, last month, or custom dates
- Comparison – Compare against previous period, previous month, or previous year
- Charts – Visualize revenue vs spend over time, profitability scatter plots, and spend distribution
SKU Performance Table
- See every product's ad performance: revenue, spend, ROAS, impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, and conversions
- Sort by any column to find top/bottom performers
- Search by product ID or title
- Export to CSV for offline analysis
- Product thumbnails for easy identification
Optimization Rules
Set up automatic rules to optimize your feed based on ad performance:
- Reduce Wasted Ad Spend – Automatically exclude products with high spend but zero revenue
- Boost Top Performers – Prioritize products with the best CTR in your feed
- Toggle On/Off – Activate or deactivate rules instantly
Rules are evaluated automatically and take effect immediately when toggled.
💡 Tip: Use Optimization Rules to automatically stop wasting budget on non-converting products and focus spend on your best performers.

Frequently Asked Questions
My products aren't showing up!
- Check if your feed source is properly connected — go to Source Feed and verify the connection status
- Try clicking the "Sync" button to refresh your products
- Make sure products have the required fields: title, image, and price
- If using a Feed URL, verify the URL is accessible and returns valid data
My designs look different in the output feed
- Verify the image size in your output feed matches your design canvas dimensions
- Check that all dynamic fields have values in your products — empty fields may cause layout shifts
- Make sure no layers are accidentally hidden in the layers panel
- Preview with multiple products to ensure the design adapts well to different content lengths
Can I apply a design to only some products instead of the whole catalog?
- Yes — in the output feed editor, under Design Mapping, use Apply Designs To and pick A Product Set or Custom conditions
- Products outside the selection stay in the feed with their original images and are never rendered, so you only pay for the products that actually get the design
- With several designs, choose Per design to give each design its own Product Set or conditions — a product receives every design it qualifies for
- This is available with Standard Output (or a single design). Split Test and Conditional Assignment have their own per-design rules instead
- Don't confuse it with the feed-level Product Set filter — that one removes products from the feed entirely
The feed URL isn't working
- Confirm the feed is set to "Active" in Output Feeds
- Try regenerating the feed by clicking the refresh button
- Check if your advertising platform requires a specific format (Google, Meta, etc.)
- Verify the feed URL hasn't changed — if it has, update it in your advertising platform
How do I create a supplemental feed?
A supplemental feed adds data to your existing main feed without replacing it. This is ideal for adding enhanced images while keeping your existing product data.
- Go to Output Feeds → Create Output Feed
- Select "Supplemental Feed" as the feed type
- Choose the designs you want to apply
- Connect to your platform — the feed will only send the image data, not replace your product info
Can I use different designs for different products?
Yes! There are two ways to do this:
- Automation Rules — Set up rules that automatically apply different designs based on product conditions (e.g., sale items get a "Sale" design)
- Output Feed Rules — When creating an output feed, configure design-to-product mapping rules
- Product Sets — Create sets of products and assign specific designs to each set
How do I invite team members?
Team collaboration is available on Business and Agency plans.
- Open the store you want to share
- Click "Share" or the people icon
- Enter the email address of your team member
- They'll receive an invitation to access the store
What image formats are supported?
- Product images: JPG, PNG, WebP
- Uploaded assets: JPG, PNG, SVG, WebP, GIF
- Output creatives are generated as PNG or JPG for maximum compatibility
- For best results, use high-resolution images (at least 800×800px)
How often does the feed auto-sync?
Auto-sync frequency depends on your plan and feed source:
- Shopify — Syncs automatically when products change via webhooks
- Feed URL — Syncs on a configurable schedule (daily, every 12h, every 6h, etc.)
- Uploaded files — Manual sync only; re-upload or switch to a feed URL for auto-updates
You can always trigger a manual sync at any time by clicking the sync button.
